1. Who the data controller is
The data controller is Elisabet Villanego Peralvo, Tax ID 38868599W, of C. d’En Prim, 107, 08911 Badalona (Barcelona), Spain, owner of Centre Veterinari Badavet.
You can contact us about anything concerning your data at info@badavet.com.
2. What data we collect
Through the appointment request form we collect only the data you provide in it:
- Your name and phone number, which are required because they are the only way for us to call you back and arrange the visit.
- Your email address, optional, only if you would rather we wrote to you instead of calling.
- Your pet’s name and whether it is a dog or a cat.
- The general reason for the visit, and your preferred day and time of day, all optional.
- A free-text field in case you would like to tell us anything else.
Please do not include health data about people or other sensitive information in the free-text field: that belongs in the consultation, not in a web form.
In addition, showing the Google Maps map requires your prior consent. That point is explained in detail in the Cookie policy.
3. Your IP address
When you submit the form, your IP address is used at that moment for two technical purposes: to check, through Cloudflare Turnstile, that the submission does not come from an automated system, and to limit the number of submissions per minute to prevent abuse.
Your IP address is not included in the email we receive, is not kept in any log of ours and is not linked to your request.
4. What we use your data for
We use the form data for a single purpose: to get in touch with you to arrange the day and time of the visit, and to prepare the consultation with the information you have given us.
Submitting the form does not confirm an appointment: we always call or write to you to finalise it.
We do not use your data to send you advertising or marketing communications, we do not build profiles and we do not make automated decisions about you.
5. Our legal basis
We process your data in order to take steps at your request prior to providing the veterinary service you are asking for (Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation). Put plainly: you write to request an appointment, and we use your data for exactly that.
The checkbox you tick before submitting serves to confirm that you have been able to read this information, as Article 13 of the Regulation requires.
Loading the Google Maps map, by contrast, is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the “Manage cookies” link in the footer.
6. Who else is involved
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. The following technical providers do act as data processors, since they are what make the site and the email work:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website, runs the process that receives the form and provides the Turnstile anti-abuse service.
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers the email containing your request to our mailbox.
- Porkbun LLC (United States), where the info@badavet.com mailbox that receives your request is hosted.
- Google Ireland Limited, if you accept the «Analytics» category, for audience measurement with Google Analytics. It is only involved if you authorise it, and it never receives the form data.
Each of them processes the data on our instructions and solely in order to provide us with their service.
We may also disclose data to public authorities where a legal rule requires us to.
7. Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Brevo is a European company and provides its services from within the European Union. Porkbun and Google are United States companies: the mailbox and, if you accept it, the analytics, involve processing that may take place outside the European Economic Area, relying on the transfer mechanisms provided for in Chapter V of the Regulation. Analytics is only enabled with your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
Cloudflare is a United States company with distributed infrastructure, so some technical processing may take place outside the European Economic Area, relying on the transfer mechanisms provided for in Chapter V of the Regulation.
If you accept the Google Maps map, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers, and Google acts as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. That processing is outside our control, which is why the map is not loaded unless you allow it.
8. How long we keep your data
Your request arrives in our mailbox and is kept while we arrange the appointment and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can deal with anything related to it.
Once the request is no longer needed for that purpose, it is deleted from the mailbox.
If you do come to the clinic, your pet’s clinical data and your own details as their guardian become part of the practice’s records, which are governed by their own retention periods and by the rules applicable to veterinary practice.
9. Your rights
You can exercise the following rights at any time by writing to us at info@badavet.com, stating which one you wish to exercise:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to erase it when it is no longer necessary.
- Ask us to restrict its processing.
- Object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Receive the data you have given us in a commonly used format, or have us send it to another controller where technically feasible.
We may ask you to prove your identity before acting on your request, to make sure we do not disclose data to the wrong person.
If you believe we have not handled your rights properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es), which is the competent supervisory authority.
10. Security
This site is always served encrypted over HTTPS, and the form data travels encrypted from your browser.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information, including restricting access to the mailbox where requests are received. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce the risks.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change the way we handle data, we will update this page and change the last-updated date shown on it.
