What we treat
Oral health affects the overall wellbeing of dogs and cats. At Badavet we assess the condition of teeth and gums, and carry out dental cleaning and other treatments when needed.
Because any dental procedure requires sedation, we always explain it beforehand and carry it out with the appropriate monitoring.
Periodontal disease is one of the most common problems in adult dogs and cats: built-up tartar inflames the gums and, over time, can loosen teeth and cause pain the animal rarely shows openly. Persistent bad breath is not just a dog thing: it is usually the first sign.
At the consultation we assess the state of the mouth and propose the right plan, from home hygiene routines to a dental cleaning, explaining beforehand what each option involves.

Frequently asked questions
Does a dental cleaning require anaesthesia?
Yes: in veterinary medicine, a thorough cleaning reaches below the gum line and can only be done with the animal anaesthetised. Their condition is assessed beforehand with an examination and, where appropriate, blood work, and we walk you through the whole procedure.
Can I brush my pet’s teeth at home?
Yes, and it is the most effective measure between cleanings: with a brush and toothpaste made for animals, never human toothpaste. We show you how to introduce it gradually so it does not become a fight.
